RICC Charity Golf Day Welcomes 72 Players and Raises More Than £23,000 for Childhood Cancer Research
On 2 September, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort in Alcaidesa hosted another successful edition of the RICC Charity Golf Day. The tournament welcomed 72 players and raised more than £23,000 to support childhood cancer research.
The day was a great success, both in terms of participation and the atmosphere enjoyed throughout the tournament. Players, businesses, sponsors and collaborators came together for an occasion defined by solidarity, friendly competition and a shared commitment to an important cause.
A Day of Golf with a Purpose
The tournament was played in a Texas Scramble format, encouraging teamwork and creating an enjoyable, dynamic competition for everyone involved.
Among the players was professional golfer Richard Bynert, a golf instructor at Valle Romano Golf, whose participation added an extra professional sporting dimension to the event.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Ed Allison-Wright, who joined us for this special occasion and shared a memorable day with the One Eden team and the wider RICC community.
A warm and friendly atmosphere continued throughout the day, combining the competitive spirit of the tournament with camaraderie and the shared goal of supporting a cause that matters deeply.
More Than £23,000 for Childhood Cancer Research
The greatest achievement of the day took place beyond the golf course. Thanks to the generosity of the players, sponsors, collaborating businesses and everyone involved, the event raised more than £23,000 for Research into Childhood Cancer (RICC).
The funds will help support RICC’s work and the childhood cancer research projects it funds in collaboration with leading medical and academic institutions.
This impressive result reflects the commitment of the business and golfing communities of Gibraltar, Alcaidesa and the wider Campo de Gibraltar, as well as golf’s ability to bring people and organisations together around a shared charitable purpose.
One Eden’s Commitment to the Alcaidesa Community
One Eden participated in the tournament with a corporate team and as sponsor of the Longest Drive Challenge.
This collaboration forms part of One Eden’s wider commitment to the Alcaidesa community and to initiatives that create a positive local impact.
