Most people searching for an apartment in Málaga are choosing between those two very different propositions.

Málaga City or the Málaga Coast?
It is worth being direct about this, because the two options suit different owners.
An apartment in Málaga city means urban living: walking to work, to restaurants and to the Picasso Museum, with the beach at the end of the street rather than at the end of the garden. It is a year-round city rather than a resort, which appeals to buyers who want Spain as a place to live rather than as a holiday base. What it rarely offers is space, private parking, a large terrace or resort amenities, and new-build stock in the centre is scarce and small.
An apartment on the Málaga coast means the opposite trade: more space and outdoor living, a garage, a terrace sized for meals rather than a chair, shared pools, gyms and courts, and a short drive to the city when you want it. This is where our homes are. If you are set on a city-centre apartment in Málaga itself, we are not the right developer, and it is better to say so than to waste your time.

La Cala de Mijas is on the western Costa del Sol, roughly midway between Málaga and Marbella. The beach, promenade, shops and restaurants of the town are within walking distance of the development, and it stays open through the winter rather than closing down out of season. Málaga airport is one of Spain’s busiest, with year-round routes across Europe rather than seasonal charter traffic, which makes short visits realistic and matters as much for resale as for daily life. The AP-7 and the coastal road put the whole province within an hour, and the AVE high-speed line connects Málaga to Madrid.
