George Hindmarsh specialized in making large silver items; trays, salvers, and coffee pots are known works by him. The salver (tray on feet) is beautifully decorated with scroll and floral motifs. It is hallmarked with the first standard mark, city mark of London, maker's mark GH, and year letter n for 1748. A family crest featuring a stork is engraved in the center
